Miguel Gallego's passion for movies led him away from pre-med courses to earn a B.A. in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto. He started his film career on the Canadian TV nature series Lorne Greene’s
New Wilderness. He later graduated from the Producer’s Program at the prestigious American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Since the mid-1990s, when Miguel joined the Directors Guild of Canada, he has worked steadily as an Assistant Director on many feature films, movies of the week, television series, and short films. In 2002 Miguel started Crypt Club Productions Inc. to make his award-winning short horror drama
The Crypt Club. In 2008 Miguel released DVD Volume 1 of the short indie horror film collection
AAAAAH!! Indie Horror Hits. In 2011 Miguel worked on the first 100% Canadian 3-D feature film,
