David Chariandy is a writer and critic who lives in Vancouver and teaches at Simon Fraser University. His first novel, entitled Soucouyant (Arsenal Pulp Press, 2007), was nominated for eleven literary prizes
internationally, including the Governor General’s Award (shortlisted), the Amazon.ca/Books in Canada First Novel
Award (shortlisted), the Scotiabank Giller Prize (longlisted), and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award (longlisted). His second novel, entitled Brother, is forthcoming from McClelland & Stewart.
