Authors in Court: Stowe v. Thomas (1853)

Mark Rose will be discussing a chapter from his new book, Authors in Court:  Scenes from the Theater of Copyright (Harvard UP); http://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674048041

The chapter on Stowe v. Thomas (1853) discusses relations between copyright law, race, slavery, and 19th century American literature.

A light lunch will be served.
