SPACE VAMPIRES & THE FUTURE OF ‘I’: THE FICTION OF PETER WATTS 10-11 NOVEMBER 2017
Jackman Humanities Building, Room 100 - 170 St. George Street, University ofToronto, St. George Campus.
Canadian science fiction writer – and reformed academic – Peter Watts is one of the most significant writers to emerge in the twenty-first century. The combined complexity of his ideas and prose remain unparalleled in contemporary writing. Please join us for this FREE 2-day public symposium which represents the first ever sustained academic engagement with Watts’ oeuvre. The symposium will be opened with a special event from 3 p.m. on Friday 10th November, ‘An Evening with Peter Watts’, which will feature a round table discussion of Watts’ oeuvre followed by an appearance by Peter Watts himself. Peter will be reading from his as-yet-unpublished forthcoming material, as well as engaging in a wide ranging interview about his work and process. We sincerely look forward to seeing you there! All are welcome, this event is free!
