Malcove Collection Tour: June 26, 1pm
Dr. Lillian Malcove Ormos was a New York City psychoanalyst who was also an avid art collector. Works from the Malcove Collection are on rotating exhibition in the permanent Malcove Gallery at UTAC. In 2002 a generous donation by Dr. John Foreman of London, Ontario added 55 Greek and Russion icons dating from the 16th to 20th centuries to the Malcove Collection.
Director Niamh O’Laoghaire will discuss the traditional ideology and techniques used in the creation of these icons, and will also showcase some of the earliest objects in the collection including the small sculpture from the Anatolian Bronze Age (ca. 4000-2000 BC), bronze lamps from the Greco-Roman period, and fine glassware among other ancient works.
Exhibition Hours: Tues. June 26, to Fri. June 29, 12-5pm Sat, June 30, 12-4pm FREE Admission
