New 2018 Programs

UTSG (St. George) Undergraduate Programs                NEW for 2018!

English Programs provide students with different frameworks within which to develop their knowledge of the field while balancing the demands of breadth and depth. Students should note that neither the Specialist nor the Major Program are designed to meet the requirements for admission to any particular graduate program: students interested in graduate school should seek advice on course selection from their professors and academic counsellors, as well as the Graduate School they wish to attend. Similarly, students considering a teaching career in Ontario should consult the admission counsellors at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education/UT. Students with questions about English Programs should first consult the appropriate Faculty of Arts and Science Calendar, and then the Office of the Associate Chair or the Undergraduate Counsellor.

Counselling

The Undergraduate Counsellor at the Department of English is available to give advice and guidance when students have questions concerning course selection or issues, program requirements, and transfer credits. Individual counselling is normally available from 10 AM to noon and 2 to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, in Room 609, 170 St, George Street. Please drop in or telephone Ms V. Holmes at 416-978-5026 for general counselling, or to assess the day's availability (as cancellations are left on the recorded phone message). For detailed program counselling, please review your program on Degree Explorer before visiting the office with your student card and any relevant, printed course syllabi or transcripts. Please also refer to the information below, as well as our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Please view our New 2018 Programs and Courses in the 2018 - 19 Faculty of Arts and Science Calendar, pending publication of the 2018-19 Calendar. You may log into Degree Explorer in order to hypothetically switch into these new programs--you must select 2018 Summer, as students may not longer register into our older programs.
