Patrick O'Sullivan

The history and form of the novel is my main research interest, particularly in its experimental expressions. My work explores how this form shapes the narratives it contains, how there is never a total break between a text and its material existence. The ways this reality is communicated in techniques like metafiction has been a central focus of mine.

Coming from New Zealand, I received my BA and MA from Victoria University of Wellington, as well as having spent a year researching at Trinity College Dublin.
