Biography

Barbara Gowdy is a novelist and short-story writer who has been nominated three times for The Giller Prize and The Roger’s Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, twice for The Governor General’s Award, and once for The Booker Prize. She has received The Marion Engel Award (1996) and The Trillium Book Award (2008). In 2006 she was appointed to The Order of Canada. In 2012 she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her books have been published in 24 countries.
