Prospective Undergraduate Students

Before gaining admission into the English programs, both Domestic and International students must gain admission to the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto St. George Campus. The Faculty of Arts & Science determines application deadlines, admission requirements, and tuition fees. Please visit, Application to the Faculty of Arts & Science.

Once students are admitted into the Faculty of Arts & Science, they can pursue our various English undergraduate programs.  Any one of the four concentrations in English - Specialist, Major, Minor, or Minor in Creative Writing - are intended to comprise part of a student's undergraduate Honours Bachelor of Arts four-year degree. They combine their program with disciplines ranging from Psychology to Cinema Studies; from Philosophy to Art History.

Students registered in the Faculty of Arts & Science select their program of study at the end of their first year of study and/or after having completed at least four full course equivalents (FCEs). Transfer credits accepted for students coming to U of T from another university also count toward this FCE requirement.
