Biography

I am interested in the continuous or discontinuous relationships between modernism and contemporary fiction; I am also interested in the politics of literature in general and of modernism in particular. I want to consider how contemporary fiction not only responds to modernism, but also redefines what modernism can or should be. Outside of academia, I occasionally write about literature and cinema. I have also worked for many years as an academic writing tutor, and I have an abiding interest in composition, rhetoric, and writing instruction.
