K Zimmer

I’m a writer, musician, actor, digital humanities research assistant, and Mad Hatter. I have poetry and prose published in Feels Zine, The Vault, and the League of Canadian Poets. My poetry placed in the Norma Epstein competitions from 2017-2020. I’m writing a memoir funded by the Toronto Arts Council. In my disability advocacy, I’ve given talks about trauma-informed pedagogy and sanism at university symposia and a conference for the MHCC. The Toronto Star featured my work on dismantling ableist academic policies. The minor fourth to major tonic is my favourite chord progression. As a Jackman Scholar alumnus, I gave a talk about the minor fourth for the 2021 Scholars-in-Residence. I’m currently writing music and monologues for a play directed by Judith Thompson. I have an impressive collection of writing rejections.
