Professor George Elliott Clarke Recognized by the Ontario Poetry Society and Spotlight in Black History Month Campaign

Professor George Elliott Clarke was recently featured Black History Month campaign while also being honoured In April 2024 with a "Lifetime Membership" in The Ontario Poetry Society, recognizing his enduring impact on the world of poetry.

Utilizing a grant from the Toronto Arts Council, Professor Clarke has embarked on the recording of the second Afro-Metis Nation CD, titled "Anthem." This project, which features a talented ensemble of musicians and lyricists, promises to be a captivating exploration of music and poetry.

Adding to his global presence, Professor Clarke delivered a Zoom lecture to two Polish universities: “Assembling the Afro-Metis Syllabus: Some Preliminary Reading.”  Faculty of Modern Languages,  University of Warsaw (Poland), and Institute of  Literature and New Media, Szczecin University (Poland) on April 16, 2024.
