Biography
Hello; my name is Quenby (she/her), and I am a third-year PhD student in the Department of English.
My dissertation focuses on the nonfiction works of Walter Pater, Oscar Wilde, Vernon Lee, and Virginia Woolf. I write about the essay form, literary apprenticeship, movement, and the mind, so my project engages with periodical studies, philosophy, and rhetoric. My former career as a classical ballet dancer deeply informs my thinking.
I enjoy teaching and am interested in sharing conversations about literature. If I’m your TA (or have been in the past), please email me for a meeting. I’d be happy to talk with you.
